William Kentridge "The Refusal Of Time"

William Kentridge's "The Refusal of Time" at the Metropolitan Museum of Art

This exhibition is composed by sounded five-channel video and the actual installation of pumping pistons; the five projected videos are surrounding the machine. These components interact each other with sound. The videos consist of various methods such as drawing, film, shadows, and pieces of papers.
The  five different channels act as one huge video creating the space for the audience and the installation. This is because we can watch the flow of the video from side to side.
The real machine in the middle of the space made me think as the audience was a part of the exhibition while the machine itself appeared in the video.
The exhibition satisfied me with the sound, the diverse videos and the big moving installation. Especially, the video clips of numerous methods motivated me in a sense of exploration.
